Everyone is invited to contribute non-perishable food to NLU’s Annual Holiday Food Drive. Now through Dec. 11, you can place canned goods, boxed foods and dry goods in boxes near the reception desks at all Illinois campuses.

Need ideas? Food banks can use almost any non-perishable, but here’s a list to get you thinking:

  • Meals in a can (stew, chili, soup)
  • Tuna and canned meat
  • Peanut butter
  • Canned foods with pop-top lids
  • Low-sugar cereals
  • 100% fruit juices in single serving boxes
  • Canned fruit packed in juice
  • Canned vegetables (low salt)
  • Rice and other whole grains

Donations will benefit the following organizations:

Chicago Campus – A Just Harvest, Chicago, IL.

Lisle Campus – Lisle Township Food Pantry

Elgin Campus – Food for a Greater Elgin Center

North Shore & Wheeling Campuses – Wheeling Township Food Pantry
