65 Media Outlets Feature NLU Profs’ ‘Back-to-School’ Tips In addition, a radio station tweeted the tips

They include research-based, practical information parents can use to get the school year off to a smooth start.

In the tips, Jennifer Cooper, Ph.D., advised parents on how to head off children’s anxiety as school begins. Seema Imam, Ed.D., told parents how to set the stage for good communication with teachers throughout the year.  If a child doesn’t want to go to school, Leslie Katch, Ph.D., provided methods for finding out what’s really going on. And Ayn Keneman, Ed.D., emphasized the importance of having children get enough sleep so their brains can absorb all the material they learn in school.
