Recognizing that students aged 24 and older fall outside the profile of the typical 18- to-24-year-old college student, rankings website College Factual has compiled a list of 988 colleges and universities nationally which are best for these returning students. College Factual ranked National Louis University in 19th place in the nation, behind Stanford University and just ahead of Cornell University.
According to the Fiscal Times, which reported on College Factual’s findings, the rankings website’s analysis considers factors such as demonstrable success after graduation, the percentage of students over age 24 and the availability of flexible learning.
Fiscal Times described National Louis University as one of the most diverse colleges in the Midwest. It reported that the average age of an undergraduate student at NLU is 34, and that 91 percent of students take classes part time.
Eighty percent of students are women, Fiscal Times wrote, adding, “Given that makeup, class schedules are designed to meet the needs of adult students.”
While College Factual ranked NLU at 19th nationally, it also broke it down, with NLU placing second in the Great Lakes region and first in Illinois.
