Learn How to Get Started in Writing Oct. 24 at MOSAIC magazine party NLU's M.S. in Written Communication program's literary magazine will be released

If you’re interested in writing, you’re invited to hear celebrity writers tell “How I Got Published, How You Can Get Published” at an event Wednesday, Oct. 24 at National Louis University.

NLU’s Master of Science in Written Communication (MSWC) program welcomes all writers, teachers of writing and aspiring writers to attend a writers’ party and celebration for  MOSAIC 2018, featuring the best published work of MSWC writers in this yearly anthology.

The celebrity writers include Dawn Turner, contributor to CBS Sunday morning and award-winning author; Rick Kogan, Chicago Tribune columnist, WGN radio host, author and awardee in the Journalism Hall of Fame, and Nate Herman, Saturday Night Live writer, Second City director, improv teacher and National Lampoon writer.

  • Meet celebrity writers, hear them speak about getting started.
  • Network and get career tips from published authors.
  • Find out how to get your books and articles published and advance in writing-related positions.
  • Enjoy refreshments, cake and musical entertainment.
  • Experience readings from MOSAIC 2018 and the awarding of honors.
  • Display and promote your own published book.
  • Find out this year’s winner of the Paris Café Writing Scholarship.
  • Event will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018 at National Louis University, 122 S. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, in the second-floor atrium.
